NDIS Info

Can I use my NDIS funding at Calm Cove Kids?

Yes! Many of the sensory tools, fidgets, and therapeutic resources available at Calm Cove Kids can be claimed under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Sensory products are often considered low-cost assistive technology or consumables under a participant's Core Supports budget. These tools can help with emotional regulation, focus, daily routines, and achieving therapeutic goals.

Important Note: Calm Cove Kids is not a Registered NDIS Provider. This means we cannot process claims directly for Agency-Managed participants. However, we can absolutely support Self-Managed and Plan-Managed participants through our invoicing system.

How to Order with NDIS Funding

We've made the process simple and straightforward.

How it works:

  1. Browse our store and add the sensory products you need to your cart.
  2. Proceed to checkout and pay for your order using your preferred payment method (Credit Card, PayPal, etc.).
  3. Once your order is complete, you will immediately receive a Tax Invoice via email.
  4. We will dispatch your items right away!
  5. You can then submit this Tax Invoice to your Plan Manager or through the NDIS portal for reimbursement.

Please Note:

  • We require full payment upfront before any order is dispatched. We do not offer "pay later" or account options for NDIS orders.
  • It is the participant's responsibility to confirm that their funding covers the purchase before ordering. We cannot guarantee that your specific plan will reimburse the cost of these items.

What Can I Claim?

As of the October 2024 NDIS legislation changes, participants can only spend NDIS funding on items included in the approved list of NDIS supports.

Sensory equipment is generally funded if it meets the NDIS "reasonable and necessary" criteria—for example, if it assists with personal care, safety, or household tasks, or if it is recommended by an allied health professional (like an Occupational Therapist).

We strongly recommend consulting with your Occupational Therapist or Support Coordinator before purchasing to ensure the specific items are appropriate for your child's plan and goals. Higher-risk items (such as weighted blankets or therapy balls) typically require written advice from a registered Allied Health Practitioner.
